The ex-Kaizer Chiefs midfield general and Warriors captain has been unveiled as head coach of Grand Legacy FC, a Pacific Storm Eastern Region side looking to punch above its weight.
The announcement dropped ahead of their Munhumutapa Challenge Cup clash with Bikita Minerals FC, timing that signals urgency, ambition, and a club ready to make noise.
“BOSS YA MBOKA… Former Warrior Willard ‘Bute’ Katsande is welcomed… Katsande is now officially the new Grand Legacy head coach,” the club declared, confirming he will assume full duties immediately after the match.
Katsande, whose career was built on discipline, grit, and leadership, kept his message simple but telling.
“New chapter, thank you Grand Legacy Football Club for the trust. Football is about gaining experience. Together we can reach there.”
But beyond the statements, this move carries weight.
Katsande is not just another coach, he is a proven leader transitioning from enforcer to architect. His sudden Rangers exit raised eyebrows, but this rapid appointment flips the narrative from uncertainty to intent.
For Grand Legacy, this is a bold gamble on pedigree. For Katsande, it is a defining test of whether his commanding presence can translate into tactical success.
“Boss Ya Mboka” is back in the game, and this time, he’s calling the shots.
Zimbabwean football won’t look away.
