Tawanda Maswanhise continues his sensational season in Scotland, scoring again as Motherwell hammered Kilmarnock 4-0 in the Scottish Premiership. The Zimbabwe international doubled Motherwell’s lead in first-half stoppage time (45+1′), making it 2–0 before the break.
He was subbed at the hour mark as the Steelmen coasted to a big win. The strike adds to a remarkable campaign in which the 23-year-old has become one of the division’s leading scorers, thrilling fans at Fir Park and raising eyebrows across Europe.
Maswanhise’s form has been impossible to ignore. After scoring consistently for Motherwell, including a brace to sink Ross County and several key goals in November, he was named William Hill Scottish Premiership Player of the Month and sits high on the scoring charts.
His performances have also translated to the international stage. Maswanhise was named among the promising talents at AFCON 2025 by CAF after a standout showing for Zimbabwe, notably scoring and creating goal opportunities against South Africa.
Transfer chatter is building too. Fans and pundits have linked him with a potential move to Scottish giants Celtic, with manager Martin O’Neill reportedly spotted at matches to watch him in action, though Motherwell boss Jens Berthel Askou insists there are no current plans to sell.
Maswanhise’s rise from Leicester City youth ranks to a star in both club and national colours reflects rapid progression. Having extended his contract with Motherwell until 2027, his next goals are clear: finish the season strong in Scotland and lead the Warriors attack with confidence and consistency on Africa’s biggest stages.
