Zimbabwe international Marshall Munetsi is edging closer to a Paris FC stay as his red-hot Ligue 1 form contrasts sharply with Wolves’ deepening relegation crisis.
Paris – Form, timing, and opportunity are aligning for Marshall Munetsi, and it could define his next move.

The Zimbabwe international is part of a surging Paris FC side that has now gone eight games unbeaten in the Ligue 1, following a composed 3-1 away win over FC Metz. That result builds on an emphatic 4-1 victory against AS Monaco, a run that has effectively steered the club clear of danger.
Now sitting 10th on the table and 13 points above the relegation zone, Paris FC have flipped their season at the perfect time. Even when not featuring, as was the case against Metz, Munetsi remains central to the squad’s balance and belief since his arrival.
He was brought in to help stabilise the team, and that mission is already accomplished. Munetsi said:
“I feel good here alongside some players that I know. We get on well and you see that on the pitch. You can’t buy this atmosphere; it’s there, or it isn’t.”
That chemistry is showing on the pitch, and it’s giving Paris FC a strong finish to the campaign.
But while stability defines Munetsi’s current environment, uncertainty surrounds his parent club, Wolverhampton Wanderers.
Wolves are firmly trapped in the relegation battle in the Premier League after suffering their 22nd defeat of the season, this time against Leeds United. Their survival hopes are now hanging by a thread.
They were only spared immediate relegation thanks to a late twist elsewhere, with Tottenham Hotspur conceding a last-gasp equaliser in a match that could have sealed Wolves’ fate.
An eight-year stay in the Premier League is now on the brink, and a drop to the Championship looks increasingly inevitable.
That reality shifts the conversation around Munetsi’s future.
A return to England could mean second-tier football. Staying in France offers top-flight continuity, a settled dressing room, and a project under Antoine Kombouaré that is clearly moving forward. Munetsi added:
“My family like it here in Paris. My two boys were born in France. It is also my country a bit.”
With just a few games left in the Ligue 1 season, the decision is becoming clearer.
If current trajectories hold, Munetsi won’t just be finishing the season in Paris, he could be securing his long-term future there, leaving Wolves to rebuild without him in the Championship.
