Warriors vice‑captain Marshall Munetsi has been confirmed fit and named in the Paris FC matchday squad for today’s Ligue 1 clash with FC Nantes (Sunday, 18 January 2026), silencing doubts about his fitness after weeks out of action. It’s a big signal for both club and country as Munetsi gears up to make his first appearance since 3 December 2025.
There had been chatter in football circles, and on social media, suggesting Munetsi might still be carrying an injury. Some critics even argued he should apologise for hinting he was unfairly omitted from Zimbabwe’s AFCON squad due to fitness concerns. But head coach Stephanie Gilli’s selection speaks volumes: Munetsi is ready, willing and part of Paris FC’s plans today. Speaking after Munetsi completed his loan move, the coach said:
“He’s a profile we didn’t have, a player with great athletic power, a box-to-box midfielder.“
Listed among midfield attackers, Munetsi joins a strong matchday 23 that includes Doucet, Lopez, Ikoné and rising star Koleosho, indicating Paris FC will look to control the engine room, exactly where Munetsi thrives.
The Warriors midfielder, on loan from Wolves, returns to French Ligue 1 action after a stint with Stade de Reims earlier in his career. Since joining Wolves in February 2025, he played a key role in helping them avoid relegation, and now looks to bring that same steel to Paris FC.
If he impresses today, it puts pressure on rivals and reassures Warriors supporters that one of Zimbabwe’s midfield generals is back to full strength.
