The appointment follows months of controversy. Highlanders initially snubbed Mwaruwari, despite Chivayo’s recommendation and pledged support for his salary and welfare. South African tactician Thabo Senong was briefly brought in but had to leave due to incomplete ZIMRA paperwork.
