The Castle Lager Premier Soccer League is still in its early stages, but the numbers already tell a story that is beginning to shake up expectations across Zimbabwean football.

Unbeaten starts, goal surges, shocking defensive collapses, and struggling attacking lines are already defining the 2026 PSL season, and fans are paying attention.

At the centre of the early-season headlines, CAPS United lead the race while Scottland FC, Dynamos, and Ngezi Platinum Stars remain unbeaten, setting the tone as the most stable sides so far. Their ability to avoid defeat early on is quietly building momentum, even as the title race is still wide open.

But not every team has found its rhythm.

Agama, TelOne, and Manica Diamonds are still chasing their first wins of the campaign, with pressure beginning to mount as early fixtures slip away. The gap between consistency and crisis is already starting to show.

Most Losses: Teams Under Pressure

Manica Diamonds lead the unwanted statistics with 7 defeats, followed closely by Agama and TelOne with 6 losses each. Defensive errors and game management issues are proving costly.

Top Scoring Teams: Who Is Firing?

At the other end, attacking football is alive and well in the PSL.

  • CAPS United – 12 goals
  • Ngezi Platinum Stars – 12 goals
  • Scottland FC – 11 goals
  • Herentals – 11 goals
  • Hardrock – 10 goals
  • Dynamos – 10 goals

These numbers show that even unbeaten or strong-starting teams are not just grinding results, they are scoring freely.

Goal Scoring Struggles: Worrying Trend

Some teams are struggling badly in attack:

  • Manica Diamonds – 1 goal
  • FC Hunters – 4 goals
  • Triangle United – 5 goals

For these clubs, creativity and finishing have become major concerns. Khama Billiat has so far scored 5 goals, that’s goals scored by all Triangle United players combined.

Defensive Crisis: Who Is Leaking Goals?

At the back, the situation is even more alarming for some sides:

  • Agama – 16 goals conceded
  • Manica Diamonds – 14 goals conceded
  • TelOne – 13 goals conceded

These figures highlight fragile defensive structures that are already shaping the league table early on.

Early PSL Story: What The Numbers Really Say

Beyond wins and losses, the PSL is already showing a clear divide:

  • Unbeaten discipline: Scottland FC, Dynamos, Ngezi Platinum Stars
  • Attacking firepower: CAPS United, Ngezi, Scottland FC
  • Defensive collapse: Agama, Manica Diamonds, TelOne
  • Goal drought pressure: Manica Diamonds especially struggling in attack

The pattern is simple but telling, teams that combine defensive organisation with attacking efficiency are pulling ahead, while others are already fighting survival battles.
