Harare, Zimbabwe – Zimbabweans are waking up to a warm, partly cloudy Sunday, but scattered thundershowers will affect many parts of the country as the day progresses. According to the latest Zimbabwe weather report and forecast from the Meteorological Services Department (MSD), mild weather conditions prevailed early this morning, with clouds gradually thickening in most regions. Showers are expected in northern and western parts of the country, while central and southern areas will enjoy mostly dry, sunny spells.

Moisture drifting from northern regions has already delivered rainfall in pockets of the country. Mufakose recorded 42mm, Chakari Dalny Mine 23mm, Harare Royal Golf Club 16mm, and the City of Harare Town House 13mm, with the rest of the country receiving less than 10mm of precipitation yesterday.

National Weather Outlook

Across Zimbabwe, temperatures will range from 16°C to 33°C, with the northern and western provinces seeing the highest rainfall. Isolated heavy showers may cause temporary disruptions, so MSD urges citizens to seek shelter during lightning storms, avoid peak heat hours, and stay hydrated. While some regions will enjoy mild sunny spells, conditions may turn cloudy and warm later in the afternoon, particularly in Matabeleland, Midlands, and Mashonaland provinces.

  2. Limit outdoor activities during peak heat.
  3. Drink plenty of water to avoid dehydration.
  4. Exercise caution when driving in wet conditions.
