Five Castle Corner fans have received funding from Delta Beverages to continue their journey with the Zimbabwe Chevrons in India, after igniting the team’s unbeaten run to the Super Eight stage of the T20 World Cup in Sri Lanka.

The lucky supporters are:

1. Leonah Dadirai Tanikwa

2. Abel Mataranyika

3. Godwin Ngonidzashe Mamhiyo

4. Brian Hwenjere

5. Malvin Nyengeterai Kwaramba

The fans’ Sri Lanka adventure was no small feat. Each spent around US$2,000 from personal savings, braving tight budgets to lift spirits at Khettarama Stadium in Colombo. From cheering on Zimbabwe’s dramatic win against Sri Lanka to celebrating Brian Bennett’s match-winning boundary, their energy was pivotal in pushing the Chevrons forward. This time, the Castle Corner fans’ trip to India for another dance with the Chevrons is funded by Delta Beverages. In a statement seen by ZiGoats.com, Castle Lager said:

“Delta Beverages, through Castle Lager, is proud to sponsor this trip, giving these passionate fans a chance to continue supporting the Chevrons in Chennai. This all-expenses-paid initiative celebrates national pride, unity, and memorable moments.”

Marketing Director Irimayi Muzorewa added:

“Castle Lager believes sport unites people and creates unforgettable memories. Supporting the Chevrons internationally is a proud moment for us, and every match is a celebration of talent, resilience, and national pride.”

Castle Corner’s journey is a story of sacrifice, faith, and redemption. From heartbreak in 2018 and 2023 to global attention now, their dedication underscores the special bond between fans and players. India awaits.
