Bulawayo Chiefs confirm BolaBet Sports as shirt sponsor for the 2026 Castle Lager Premier Soccer League season

Bulawayo Chiefs Football Club has confirmed BolaBet as its official shirt sponsor for the 2026 season, a deal that signals financial backing and renewed ambition at a club determined to avoid another drop. After a season in the dusty pitches of Division One following relegation, The Ninjas are back in the Premier Soccer League (PSL), and they are not tip-toeing. They are making statements.

In a statement seen by ZiGoats.com, the club said:

“Bulawayo Chiefs FC is thrilled to announce that Bolabet will be the official shirt sponsor for the 2026 season. This exciting partnership marks a significant milestone for our club as we continue to build our brand and enhance our competitive edge in Zimbabwean football.”

Chiefs added that the BolaBet logo will feature prominently on all home, away, and third kits, as well as training and travel apparel. CEO Thulani “Javas” Sibanda said:

“I’m enthusiastic about the partnership, and am delighted to welcome Bolabet as our official shirt sponsor for the 2026 season. This partnership signifies a shared vision for success, growth, and community engagement. Bolabet’s support will enable us to invest further in our team wear and programs, ensuring that we continue to be professional and compete at our highest level.”

From Relegation Pain to Strategic Reset

Chiefs’ relegation exposed the dangers of relying heavily on youth development without retaining experienced spine players. For years, the club built talent only to watch it leave for financially stronger sides, forcing yet another rebuild.

Transfer Market Signals Intent

Sources close to the club indicate Chiefs are no longer shopping only for potential. They are targeting experienced players to blend with their youthful energy. That shift suggests one thing: Chiefs want stability and a PSL season where survival is not the sole goal.

With sponsorship secured, a proven coach in charge, and recruitment aimed at balance rather than resale value, Chiefs are positioning themselves not just to survive but to compete.

The Man Who Brought Them Back

Senior coach John Nyikadzino is the real story behind Chiefs’ PSL return. He guided the Ninjas to the 2025 Southern Region Soccer League (SRSL) title, sealing promotion back to the top flight. But this achievement adds to a record-breaking career:

Nyikadzino is now officially the first coach in Zimbabwean football history to help four different teams earn promotion to the PSL:

1. Chapungu – 2013 CRSL title

2. Nichrut – 2018 CRSL title

3. Sheasham – 2023 CRSL title

4. Bulawayo Chiefs – 2025 SRSL title

He joins an elite group of promotion specialists including Lloyd Mutasa, Arthur Tutani, Nesbert Saruchera, Bigboy Mawiwi, and Lindile Dube. Nyikadzino recently took part in a CAF A refresher course in Harare, a signal that Chiefs are investing not just in players but in coaching and technical growth too.
