Casablanca – Nigeria clinched third place at AFCON 2025 after edging Egypt 4-2 in a nail-biting penalty shootout at Stade Mohamed V. The match ended 0-0 after regulation and extra time, with both teams unable to break the deadlock despite multiple chances and tactical changes.

In the shootout, Nigeria’s Akor Adams, Moses Simon, Alex Iwobi, and Ademola Lookman scored confidently from the spot, while goalkeeper Stanley Nwabali saved Salah and Marmoush’S penalties. Egypt’s Ramy Rabia and Mahmoud Saber converted, but misses from Mohamed Salah and Omar Marmoush sealed the Super Eagles’ victory.
