Warriors sharpshooter Tawanda Maswanhise says he is far from done after clinching his second Player of the Month award this season, a statement of dominance in Scottish football.

“Second player of the month this season –  Hungry for more! Let’s keep pushing 🦾🧡”

Short. Direct. Confident. And very much in line with the numbers he is producing.

Maswanhise has been in scintillating form, scoring and assisting almost at will. He currently tops the Scottish Premiership scoring charts with 13 goals and 2 assists in 22 matches, averaging a goal every 134 minutes, bettered by no one in the race.

Even more impressive is how he responded after temporarily leaving Motherwell to represent Zimbabwe at the 2025 AFCON in Morocco. While some expected a dip in rhythm, Maswanhise returned sharper. He was involved in two goals in the Warriors’ final AFCON match, something that won him the Most Promising Player award from the Confederation of African Football (CAF). Then he came back to Scotland and exploded.

Six goals in his last five games.

That surge saw him close in on, and overtake, the previous top scorer, moving ahead of Celtic’s B. Nygren (12 goals) and Hearts’ L. Shankland (11 goals).

Interest is now intensifying for the former Leicester City Academy player. Rivals are monitoring him closely, Championship clubs in England are reportedly circling, and calls are growing louder for him to consider a return to the English Premier League.

At just the right time, too. Form, confidence, numbers, everything is aligning. For Zimbabwe, this is more than just a hot streak. It is a striker entering his prime, carrying both club and country ambitions on his shoulders. And if his own words are anything to go by, he is not satisfied.

He is hungry for more.
