HARARE – Zimbabwe international Tawanda Maswanhise continues to turn heads in Scotland, delivering once again for Motherwell FC as they edged past Ross County in the Scottish Cup 4th round.

The Warriors striker broke the deadlock in the 64th minute, calmly knocking Tom Sparrow’s rebound past goalkeeper Trevor Carson to seal a 1-0 victory. Motherwell confirmed the milestone on their official channels:

“Finally the breakthrough! Maswanhise is on hand to knock Tom Sparrow’s shot past Trevor Carson… Motherwell 1 – 0 Ross County. Job done. We go into the hat for the next round 🏆.”

Maswanhise has been in scintillating form since the start of the season. His consistent performances have only intensified after returning from the AFCON 2025 finals in Morocco, where he represented Zimbabwe. Despite the holiday break, he picked up exactly where he left off, demonstrating his lethal finishing and sharp attacking instincts.

His impressive displays have not gone unnoticed. Reports suggest that Celtic in the Scottish Premiership is monitoring his progress closely, while former English  Premier League champions Leicester City has reportedly expressed interest in bringing the Zvishavane-born back into the fold. For Maswanhise, maintaining his current form could open doors to a bigger stage, reinforcing his status as one of Zimbabwe’s brightest attacking talents.

As Zimbabwe fans celebrate another goal from their national team star, the striker’s growing reputation abroad signals a new chapter for Warriors exports making waves in European football.
