Real Stars, Harare’s academy for emerging talent, is nurturing the next generation of football heroes, and one name is quietly taking the spotlight: Ngedwa Mpako, affectionately called Sir Ronaldo for his devotion to Cristiano Ronaldo, or Sir Dedwa due to a playful mispronunciation of his name.

At the recent Harare Champion of Champions Futsal Games, Ngedwa’s brilliance was impossible to ignore. In the Under 11 category, he scored seven of the team’s eight goals, while Captain Marowa netted a hat-trick in Under 12. Chigutiro scored a hat-trick in the under 9 age group. Real Stars dominated across age groups:

  • Under 9: Callis Five 2-4 Real Stars
  • Under 11: Callis Five 1-8 Real Stars
  • Under 13: Callis Five 2-5 Real Stars

Ngedwa first caught attention at age seven, when a viral video showed him analysing both local and global football with remarkable insight. Since then, his rise has been steady, earning recognition beyond the academy.

Scottland FC president Pedzai Sakupwanya recently extended a comprehensive support package for the young talent, ensuring his growth on and off the pitch:

  • School fees for Ngedwa and his school-going siblings
  • Monthly allowance
  • Three full playing kits for the 2026 season
  • Family house rental starting March 1, 2026
  • Free medication from Booties Pharmacies
  • Free treatment at Scottland Medical Centre and Maternity
  • Employment opportunities for his O Level-completed siblings
  • Travel for Scottland FC away matches without affecting schooling
  • Foreign trips to watch his favourite international team

This package marks a fresh chapter for Sir Dhedhwa, transitioning him from viral skits to structured football development. For Scottland FC, it reinforces the club’s commitment to nurturing talent beyond the pitch, while for Ngedwa, it provides the stability every young star needs to thrive academically and athletically.

The spotlight that once came from humour may now illuminate a promising football future, supported, guided, and ready to inspire the next generation of Zimbabwean stars.
