The Zimbabwe Republic Police (ZRP) has released the names of victims who tragically lost their lives in two separate fatal road accidents that occurred in Nyabira and Chiredzi in late February and early March 2026.
In a press statement dated 3rd March 2026, the ZRP said:
“Reference is made to the Zimbabwe Republic Police’s X handle posts on two fatal road traffic accidents which occurred on 28th February and 1st March 2026 in Chiredzi and Nyabira. The Zimbabwe Republic Police releases the names of victims who died in the two road traffic accidents. The victims were identified by their next of kin as follows.”
Chiredzi – 112 km peg, Roy-Buffalo Range Road
- Edmore Nhamo (34), male adult, Tshovani, Chiredzi
- Thomas Ngandini (23), male adult, Dekesa Village, Zaka
- Cathrine Mupunga (34), female adult, Mupunga Village, Gutu
Nyabira – 54 km peg, Harare-Chirundu Road
- Bealla Mashinge (41), female adult, Rusununguko Extension, Chinhoyi
- Anesu Prisca Mutepfa (43), female adult, Rusununguko Extension, Chinhoyi
- Devine Muroyiwa (05), male juvenile, Rusununguko Extension, Chinhoyi
- Munyaradzi Sosono (28), male adult, Inkomo Barracks
- Mavis Takura (33), male adult, Hunyani, Chinhoyi

The ZRP emphasised the importance of road safety, urging all motorists to exercise caution and strictly adhere to traffic rules. The statement read:
“The Zimbabwe Republic Police reiterates that motorists should exercise caution while driving on the country’s roads and abide by road rules and regulations to safeguard lives.”
The Police Commissioner also extended condolences to the families of the victims, while reiterating the commitment of the force to ensuring road safety across Zimbabwe.
