Scottland FC president, Honourable Pedzai “Scott” Sakupwanya, has stepped in with a comprehensive support package for young football sensation Ngedwa Mpako, popularly known as Sir Dhedhwa. The intervention follows a meeting between Sakupwanya, Sir Dhedhwa’s parents, and his coach, as the club moves to secure both the boy’s football development and educational future.
Sir Dhedhwa has become one of Zimbabwe’s most recognisable young football personalities, and the latest development represents a major boost in his journey.
Background: The Rise of Sir Dhedhwa
Sue “Sir Dhedhwa” Mpako first gained national attention as a social media sensation through a viral football skit dubbed Kakatowanda. In the widely shared clip, he and his friends, then toddlers, analysed international football with surprising confidence, wit, and detail.
It was in that skit that he famously declared Cristiano Ronaldo better than Lionel Messi, while acknowledging that Messi had scored from outside the box “Kakatowanda” (many times). The nickname “Dhedhwa” is a mispronunciation of his given name, Ngedwa, and it eventually stuck. Supporters also affectionately call him Mr Ronaldo due to his strong admiration for the Portuguese star.
When all this was happening, Sir Dhedhwa had already joined Real Stars Academy to pursue football more seriously. However, late 2025 brought challenges. A reported dispute emerged between his parents and coach Stan “Kochalo” Kavai, with allegations that the coach had benefited from money sent by well-wishers. The coach denied the claims and stated that he had, at times, supported the youngster using his own resources. The fallout resulted in Sir Dhedhwa being left behind when other Real Stars Academy players travelled for away tournaments, including an invitational FC Platinum tournament in Zvishavane. Despite the off-field turbulence, his popularity and football dream remained intact.
