POTRAZ Opens 2026 ICT Scholarship Applications For STEM Students

The Postal and Telecommunications Regulatory Authority of Zimbabwe (POTRAZ) has officially opened applications for its 2026 ICT Scholarship Programme, targeting academically gifted but financially disadvantaged students pursuing STEM degrees at Zimbabwe’s state universities.

The scholarship aims to develop a new generation of technology-driven professionals in line with Zimbabwe’s digital transformation agenda. Priority will be given to students studying Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM), particularly emerging ICT-related fields such as Data Science, Telecommunications Engineering, Mechatronics Engineering, Nanotechnology, Agricultural Engineering, Financial Engineering and Computational Mathematics.

Who Is Eligible?

The programme is open strictly to Zimbabwean nationals who do not hold dual citizenship.

First-year students (Part 1.1) enrolling in the February or August 2026 intake must have obtained at least 15 points in three STEM A’ Level subjects within 12 months before the application deadline.

Continuing students (Part 1.2 to Part 5.1) must be registered for the February 2026 semester and maintain an overall Upper Second Class (2.1) degree or better.

All applicants must have an unconditional acceptance or admission offer letter (except for funding) from a Zimbabwean state university before the scholarship application deadline. Close relatives of POTRAZ employees are not eligible.

Application Deadline

Applications will be accepted until 23:59 on Friday, 27 March 2026.

Required Documents

Applicants must upload certified or original copies of the following documents:

  • Birth Certificate
  • National ID/Citizenship Document
  • O’ Level Certificate
  • A’ Level Certificate or Result Slip
  • Parent/Guardian National ID
  • Parent/Guardian Salary Payslip or Proof of Income
  • Parent(s) Death Certificate(s) where applicable
  • University Acceptance/Offer Letter
  • University Transcript (for continuing students)
  • University Fees Invoice and Proof of Payment
  • At least two Character Reference Letters

The character reference template can be downloaded using the official scholarship link provided by POTRAZ. Applicants are required to name their files in the format NAME-SURNAME-TITLE, for example: John-Munda-BirthCertificate.
