Zimbabwean forwards Thandolwenkosi Ngwenya scored a brace and provided an assist  AmaZulu defeated TS Galaxy. Junior Zindoga scored the second goal for TS Galaxy to lit up South Africa’s Betway Premiership in a five-goal thriller on Sunday.

This was not just another league match, it was a showcase of Zimbabwean attacking quality under pressure.

Ngwenya, introduced in the second half, (67th minute to be precise), completely changed the tempo of the game. With AmaZulu chasing the match, the Warriors forward brought urgency, movement, and killer instinct in the box. He first got on the scoresheet late on to pull Usuthu level, then turned provider with a sharp assist as substitutes combined to swing momentum. But he wasn’t done, deep in stoppage time, Ngwenya struck again to seal all three points and complete a brace plus an assist performance that earned him Man of the Match honours.

At the other end, Junior Zindoga showed his own class. The TS Galaxy forward capped a dangerous display with a beautifully taken goal, cutting inside and finishing with confidence to briefly restore Galaxy’s lead. It was a striker’s goal, composed, precise, and fearless.

Zimbabwe exports match-winners, not passengers.

Ngwenya’s introduction exposed tired Galaxy legs and shifted AmaZulu’s attacking shape. His direct runs forced defensive errors, while his link-up play created overloads in wide areas. Simply put, he didn’t just score, he tilted the pitch.

Zindoga, meanwhile, continues to prove he’s more than a squad player. His movement between defenders and ability to arrive late in scoring areas is becoming a consistent weapon for Galaxy.

For Zimbabwean football watchers, this was bigger than club points. It was proof that Warriors forwards are competing, and deciding matches, in one of Africa’s toughest leagues. Performances like these strengthen their national team credentials and send a clear message: Zimbabwe exports match-winners, not passengers.

Unfortunately, Mason Mushore who recently joined AmaZulu from Highlanders did not make the Matchday squad. Reasons are not yet known.

AmaZulu celebrated the points. Galaxy will rue missed chances. But back home, fans saw something else, two Zimbabweans owning the spotlight on foreign soil.

And that’s always a win.
