Bloemfontein – South African Premier Soccer League side Marumo Gallants F.C. has suspended Head Coach Alexandre Lafitte with immediate effect, the club confirmed on 2 March 2026. The suspension comes amid concerns over compliance with contractual duties and the team’s recent underwhelming performances.
In an official statement, Marumo Gallants emphasized the importance of governance, professionalism, and accountability in club operations. The statement reads:
“The necessary internal processes are being followed in line with the Club’s policies and contractual obligations.”

The club cited poor performance in recent fixtures as a major factor behind the decision, noting that team operations will continue as normal while an acting head coach is appointed. Management assured supporters and stakeholders that preparations for upcoming matches remain a priority. The statement added:
“Marumo Gallants F.C. appreciates the continued support and understanding from its fans and partners during this period. Further communication will be issued if and when appropriate.”
Marumo Gallants’ Media Spokesperson, Sello Nduna, confirmed that all queries regarding the suspension should be directed to the club’s media office. The club also works closely with 1Africa Consulting for communication management.
Marumo Gallants is home to Warriors shotstopper Washington Arubi.
