Big news for Harare football fans: Genesis ‘Kaka’ Mangombe is back at Dynamos FC, the Glamour Boys have confirmed. The club’s statement was short but sweet:

“Big news😊, Genesis ‘Kaka’ Mangombe is back! We’re pleased to announce his reengagement as Head Coach of Dynamos FC, effective immediately. Welcome back, Genesis! 👏🏼”

Mangombe’s return ends months of speculation about his coaching future and marks a critical moment for a Dynamos side that has struggled in recent seasons.

A Journey Through Zimbabwean Football

Kaka Mangombe left Dynamos in 2024, moving to Scottland FC owned by politician and miner Scott Pedzai Sakupwanya. His time there was short-lived, and he soon ventured abroad to Tanzania’s Tabora United in early 2025. However, the stint lasted only 20 days, reportedly due to limited support from the club’s management.

Returning home, Mangombe took charge of Triangle United, a club he previously guided to league stability. His impact was immediate, steering the Sugar Boys away from relegation and proving his tactical acumen on a tight budget.

Now, Dynamos fans hope he can replicate that magic and steer the Glamour Boys back into ZPSL title contention.

Dynamos’ Challenge

Dynamos have been lagging in the transfer market especially for a club that lost a coach, Kelvin Kaindu, and some key players, and faced an uphill battle last season, flirting dangerously with relegation. With Mangombe at the helm, there’s renewed hope that tactical discipline, youth integration, and experience can revive the Dembare brand.

Local football insiders note that Mangombe is a coach who thrives under pressure, a trait that could be pivotal if Dynamos want to reclaim their glory and challenge the dominance of Mafikizolo clubs like Scottland FC, MWOS, FC Platinum, Ngezi Platinum FC and the old guard I clouding CAPS United, and Highlanders.

The question now on everyone’s lips: Can Kaka Mangombe turn Dynamos around and restore their status as Zimbabwean football giants?
