Zimbabwe’s energy regulator, the Zimbabwe Energy Regulatory Authority (ZERA), has announced a Systems Administrator vacancy, targeting skilled ICT professionals ready to manage critical infrastructure and ensure uninterrupted digital operations.
The role comes at a time when institutions are under pressure to maintain secure, reliable, and high-performing systems, making this position central to ZERA’s operational efficiency and service delivery.
The successful candidate will report directly to the ICT Manager and will take full responsibility for server environments, virtualization systems, and data centre operations. This includes maintaining system uptime, strengthening cybersecurity, and ensuring seamless access to digital services across the organisation.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage and optimise server infrastructure (physical and virtual)
- Administer Active Directory, Group Policy, and print services
- Monitor system performance and resolve complex ICT issues
- Oversee data centre operations and system health
- Implement backup systems and disaster recovery plans
- Manage user access, permissions, and security controls
- Handle system upgrades, patching, and lifecycle management
- Collaborate with Network Administrator on planning and documentation
Minimum Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in ICT, Computer Science, or related field
- At least 3 years’ experience in systems administration or infrastructure roles
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work under pressure and manage critical systems
Technical Skills & Expertise
- Experience with enterprise server environments
- Proficiency in virtualization platforms such as VMware vSphere or Microsoft Hyper-V
- Working knowledge of SAP systems
- Strong understanding of network, server, and application-level support

- Professional certifications such as MCSE, VCP, or CCNP
- Postgraduate qualification in a relevant field
