Barcelona edged Real Madrid to lift the Spanish Super Cup, winning a breathless 3–2 final that had everything, goals, red cards, drama and a familiar Clásico edge.

Raphinha was the headline act, striking twice to sink Madrid and underline why Barcelona look a cut above right now. His opener on 36 minutes set the tone before the game exploded late in the first half. Vinícius Júnior pulled Madrid level, Robert Lewandowski restored Barça’s lead, only for Gonzalo García to make it 2–2 deep into stoppage time.

The second half belonged to Barcelona’s composure. Despite seeing far less of the ball, Hansi Flick’s side were ruthless when it mattered. Raphinha’s second, finished coolly after neat work from Dani Olmo, proved decisive. Frenkie de Jong’s late red card added tension, but Barça held firm.

As is usually the case, Barcelona dominated possession with 71 percent and completed over 560 passes, against Madrid’s 29 percent and 262 passes. Barcelona were sharper, more direct and far more clinical. This was a reminder that football can be won on possession charts, and in key moments.

Beyond the trophy, the result feeds straight into the LaLiga title race. Barcelona sit top of the table with 49 points, four clear of Real Madrid after 19 matches. Mentally, this Super Cup win feels like a statement, “Barcelona edge Madrid to lift the Spanish Super Cup,” and in doing so, send a clear warning for the league battle ahead.

Momentum matters. Right now, it’s wearing blaugrana.
