Bulawayo – Zimbabwean busineman Wicknell Chivayo has rewarded Highlanders after their 1–0 victory over Dynamos in the Jairos Jiri Charity Cup, turning a fierce derby triumph into a million-dollar moment. The Bosso win over Dembare did not just settle bragging rights, it triggered one of the biggest off-field rewards seen in Zimbabwean club football in recent years.

The Bosso–Dembare rivalry rarely needs extra fuel. But this time, Chivayo believed the cup triumph over Dynamos needed to be rewarded with grand recognition for Highlanders leadership.

Posting on his social media platforms, Chivayo declared:

“BOSSO iBOSSO…SIYINQABA!!!! 🖤🤍⚽️

A MOTIVATED and well LED team will always DELIVER results! Highlanders FC’s 1–0 victory over Dembare clearly shows that Bosso is ON THE RISE…”

Chivayo Rewarded Highlanders Leadership With Brand New Cars After Win Over Dynamos

In recognition of the win over Dynamos, Chivayo instructed the club leadership to travel to Harare to collect vehicles that have been fully paid for.

Head coach Benjani Mwaruwari is set to receive a brand new 2026 Ford Everest 3.0D Limited Edition valued at US$92,000.

Club chairman Luke Mnkandla will collect a Toyota Fortuner 2.8 4×2 GD6 worth US$80,500, while CEO Denzil Mnkandla will receive a Toyota Fortuner 2.4 4×2 GD6 valued at US$72,500.

Highlanders Legends chairman Madinda Ndlovu is also set to collect a Toyota Fortuner 2.4 GD6 4×2 valued at US$72,500.

Each beneficiary will receive US$10,000 for fuel and pocket money. Club curator Jabulani Nkomo will also receive US$10,000 for fuel and an additional US$10,000 for his wife in recognition of her support.

US$1 Million Sponsorship Confirmed

Chivayo further confirmed the immediate disbursement of the remaining US$500,000 from a previous pledge, bringing his total sponsorship commitment to US$1 million. He wrote:

“It is my sincere HOPE and EXPECTATION that, with such financial support, the Club will be able to SIGN ON new players and adequately MOTIVATE the current players.”

The financial boost places Highlanders in a strong position ahead of what promises to be a competitive 2026 Premier Soccer League campaign.

What This Means for Highlanders After Beating Dynamos

Beating Dynamos whether in the Jairos Jiri Charity Cup or Chibuku Super Cup is always symbolic. For Highlanders, the victory signals intent. For Chivayo, it justified investment.

With US$1 million now injected into the club structure, expectations will inevitably rise. Supporters will demand squad strengthening, improved player welfare, and serious title contention.

The Highlanders–Dynamos rivalry may have been settled on the pitch for now. But off it, Chivayo’s reward has elevated the stakes. Bosso must now turn financial backing into silverware.
